My principal role at the moment is as a sort of shock absorber and high-level strategist for the product engineering team at Triptease. I bring the wider commercial context and priorities to the product squads, set the over-arching vision, strategy and direction for our platform, and monitor and iterate the process that sees this through to execution. We work in an autonomous squad model where we drive as much authority and decision making down to the people on the front-line as possible. This means most of my time is spent oiling the channels of communication into the team, providing them with the information they need to make better decisions, and freeing them from any dependencies or distractions that might prevent them doing their best work and staying on strategy. I\'m kept pretty busy continuously tweaking the process and team structure that enables this empowered approach (likely on version 36 or thereabouts now), and I\'m keen to connect with anyone who is also mildly obsessed with this sort of thing.
