Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of strategies to generate maximum profit as per the defined trading plan while building a new trading book around Kinder Morgan Crude and Condensate pipeline in South Texas. Deliver short-term commercial analysis and medium-term planning scenarios by developing and maintaining an up-to-date crude oil market point of view and market intelligence. Oversee the crude desk, including trading physical crude oil, optimizing pipeline, terminal, and marine assets while directing a team of schedulers, executing financial derivatives trades, originating new business, and managing all commercial contracts. Manage the volume and complexity of the growing trading operation, including proper data gathering for accounting and invoicing, contract management, financial trades execution, and communication while co-leading and designing back-office functions. Developed and grew an Eagle Ford trading book with approximately $35M/y P&L consistently month to month. Led the design and development of the first purchasing operation to buy crude oil at producer leases on truck, including developing all related contracts with transportation companies. Successfully increased the trading book volume by 400% in a highly competitive market by expanding the number of trading counterparties into major oil companies and trading houses in the Houston hub. Effectively managed credit risks and a financial derivative trading program to manage the credit and market risks of the book.
