About Alan Schrob
You could say that I was born into plastics. My father, one of my heroes and greatest mentors, was a chemical engineer designing and building plastics production facilities. It seems natural that I made my career in the same industry. There are three guiding principles that have enabled me to reach the level of success that I have:⇨ Integrity: Every decision, every coachable moment, every difficult conversation occurs for the sake of doing the right thing.⇨ Capacity: I’m currently responsible for 12 different businesses accounting for 2/3 of my company’s revenue. I have six leaders reporting to me and I have enough knowledge and experience in each of those businesses to support, coach, and mentor the other leaders.⇨ Empathy. I care about my team. They know I will take a bullet for them AND hold them accountable for their decisions and actions. Leading the Market Management team at NOVA Chemicals is about so much more than developing and promoting great products. It’s about inspiration, mentorship, leadership and driving financial results. It’s about helping teams get better at what they do, supporting their ideas, and turning those ideas into reality, which ultimately drives revenue and profitability. Driven by the belief that long-term access to safe water can be achieved through locally run businesses that provide water treatment products at prices rural families can afford, DSI seeks to improve life in developing countries by identifying and encouraging the use of affordable water purification systems, teaching the importance of proper household water treatment, and creating new business opportunities for individuals through start up capital, enterprise education, and business planning
