ABOUT ALAN SAJI

I am Alan, an Academic Foundation Doctor in the UK. The Academic Foundation Programme is a competitive and specialised pathway that allows clinicians to combine frontline training with research and academic development. My background includes an intercalated Master’s degree investigating the use of ECG data to detect anxiety disorders, applying computational approaches to explore diagnostic potential. I continue to pursue projects in computational physiology and medical technology, with a focus on how digital tools and data can transform patient care.Alongside my clinical and academic work, I serve as National Strategy Director of the MedTech Foundation, one of the UK’s largest medical technology societies. The Foundation plays a key role in raising awareness of medical technology, connecting students and clinicians with opportunities in the field, and fostering collaboration across academia, healthcare, and industry. In my role, I contribute to shaping its strategic direction and supporting initiatives that help build the next generation of MedTech innovators.I am excited to continue developing my career as a clinical academic, with a focus on Medical technology, a field in which I aim to pursue further academic training. I am also passionate about the strategic and policy side of innovation, especially how digital health can be brought into healthcare systems in a way that genuinely improves patient care.
