If you asked my mother (please don\'t) she would probably tell you the distinct memory of my first grade teacher, Mrs. Copeland, requesting a parent-teacher meeting concerning my performance in class. Right there in black and white under the additional comments section of my \"satisfactory\" progress report for the quarter:\"participates in class, but does not follow directions.\" It appears my creative approach to writing assignments, which meant drawing illustrations all over the pages to enhance the story, was unappreciated. Did I let that unjust Rotten Tomatoes review of my creative nature stop me from being my most authentic self? Absolutely not.When I find myself problem solving or starting a fun new project that story often pops into my mind. Over the years I have perfected this seemingly defiant rule-bending trait and quite proud of all that I have accomplished - despite one frustrated first grade teachers comments. I am \"that\" colleague/collaborator/partner/ambassador who is well-rounded and people want to work with. I get the job done and if I can\'t, well, I sure will find a way. I\'m the champion for champions.
