About Alan Mitchell
Alan is a dynamic real estate professional with 28 years expertise in acquisitions, asset management, trading, finance, development and investment. Alan has worked throughout Europe, leading complex projects from conception to completion. His breadth of experience in both private equity and banking brings a unique perspective when approaching real estate projects. Prior to moving to the US, Alan was a Vice President with private equity firm Cerberus, where he was responsible for the real estate workout of multi-billion dollar portfolios of non-performing loans - spearheading negotiations to secure commercial settlements, guiding portfolio management and driving asset sales. Alan has also worked with Royal Bank of Scotland Group, where he led a specialized team focused on assisting key customers in stabilizing their portfolios and successfully restructuring their operations. Notably, Alan also established, built and profitably exited three of his own private real estate companies and has also completed multiple development and acquisition projects for Kingfisher, a leading European retailer. Alan holds the professional designations of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and is a licensed Realtor® in North Carolina and Salesperson in South Carolina. In his spare time, Alan enjoys rugby with his 2 sons (coaching and supporting!), encouraging his daughter in competitive dance contests and exploring the Carolinas with his wife, Debbie and 2 dogs.
