WORK HISTORY
Author @Grand Central Publishing
New York, NY, US
Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, published my first book, All The Lives I Want: Essays About My Best Friends Who Happen To Be Famous Strangers in February 2017. This debut collection of pop culture criticism essays appeared on over 20 “Most Anticipated of 2017” lists and received overwhelmingly positive reviews in major publications in addition to strong debut sales and public response. My second book with Grand Central, Not In The Job Description, is a non-fiction investigation and analysis of how persistent and dangerous conceptions of gender, power, labor, and language have resulted in enduring workplace inequality across the entire workforce. It is scheduled for publication in April 2019. My second book is also being published by Grand Central, with a publication date TBD. Through the lenses of pop culture and primary source materials documenting the ways we recruit, address, evaluate, and understand women and their labor across the workforce, I insist that our cultural conversations about gender and work dig deeper into the pernicious and undetected misogyny that permeate our workplaces and indicate that we have yet to fully grasp that women perform valuable, productive labor. I am represented by Adriann Ranta of Foundry Media.
