ABOUT ALAN WALLER

PROFESSOR ALAN WALLER OBE,MA(Oxon),MSc,DMS,HonFCILT,FIBC,CMC,FCMI,FMS,FORAlan G Waller is Vice-President for Supply Chain Innovation at the Consultancy EFESO International. He is also Visiting Professor in International Supply Chain Management at Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management.He is also Chairman of ELUPEG, President of Leaders in Supply Chain, and an Ambassador of Transaid.Alan was educated at St. Catherine\'s College, Oxford, Leicester School of Management and Cranfield School of Management. Alan was Senior Logistics Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, retiring from the partnership in January 2002. He joined Solving Efeso the same year.He was the Founder and first Director of what is now the Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and in 1980 established and directed the world’s first MSc in Logistics. He directed the Centre again from 1997 to whilst remaining a partner in PwC.He has served as Chairman and President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK, and also as President of CILT International.He was also Chairman and Director of the European Council on Global Supply Chain of The Conference Board in Brussels, and set up the European Council for Customer Service.In 2007 Alan joined the European Leadership team of The Supply Chain Council.In 1998 he was awarded the Sir Robert Lawrence Gold Medal for his contribution to Logistics.In 2006 he was made an Officer of the Order of The British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty The Queen for his service to Logistics.In 2011 Alan was named Individual Achiever of the Year for the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
