ABOUT ALAN WAGER

A political scientist and analyst working on public opinion and public policy at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. The aim is to build support for progressive change and better government in the UK, in Europe and across the world. The analytical tools - whether quantitative or qualitative - depend on the group we are trying to understand and the policy we want to deliver.I have written for most major UK newspapers and magazines – and some international ones too – including The Guardian, The Times, the Daily Telegraph, New Statesman, Washington Post, Unherd, Foreign Affairs, Tortoise, Reaction and The Spectator. My research, data visualisations and comment has been featured in most of these places too.I have appeared for interviews to discuss research on places as diverse as BBC News, Sky News, ITV News, Bloomberg, LBC, Radio 4, Times Radio, Talkradio, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC World Service, RTÉ, Novara Media, EuroNews and GB News.In 2024, with Oxford University Press, I published my first book: Cross-Party Politics in Post-War Britain. Google it, remortgage your house and you can buy a copy (or email me if you are interested). I have also written peer-reviewed articles for political science journals such as Political Studies, Political Quarterly, the British Journal of Politics and International Relations, the Journal of European Integration, Regional Studies and British Politics.
