Retaining authority for the underwriting of the After the Event Legal Expenses (ATE) policies • Developing MI reports for internal strategic steering with external analysis from capacity providers • Analysing detailed underwriting and claims data to manage the performance of the business • Liaising with the business producer and capacity providers to advise on making improvements • Liaising with the Head of IT and external stakeholders to ensure data quality and consistency Achievement Highlights: • Reviewing captured data and recommending additional information in liaison with the Head of IT, I designed the database views required to build out the reporting suite using Power BI and Power Automate. As the business grew, the reporting suite was enhanced and expanded. Our insurance/re-insurance partners commented that they do not get this level of detail from any of their other MGA clients and that our reports give more information than they are able to extract from their own internal systems. • Every quarter we were required to analyse a set of data that was only available to us on a set of 200 individual screenshots. I taught myself how to construct and refine an AI model to perform the task using Power Automate AI Builder function. Rather than taking several days each quarter, it now takes about an hour a quarter to process the 200 screenshots and avoids having to manually re-key this information. • I took the proposed rating structure for a new insurance product and constructed a quote engine in Excel to test the rates against a set of sample data. I also expanded this to a report in Power BI and designed the database structure so that the IT developer could build a customer-facing version. This test data analysis reassured potential insurance partners on the proposed rating structure. Iterations of the project have been presented to potential insurance partners and are key to obtaining their agreement to underwrite the product.
