AWS certified.I was fortunate to play a part in FanDuel’s turbulent journey over a 9 year period up to September 2023: the exponential success of daily fantasy sports, and the need for compliance with state regulations that followed; fantasy market saturation and the financial challenges this brought; an attempted merger with arch-rival DraftKings blocked by the US Justice Department, followed by the US Supreme Court striking down PASPA and creating the opportunity for the FanDuel brand to merge with Flutter’s US subsidiary and pivot to offering legal sports betting throughout America. During these times, the business faced numerous challenges with rapid scaling to support millions of customers, building and managing a high-performance workforce, and cultural shifts after the merger.FanDuel is the number one sports betting entertainment company in North America and Canada, and provides sports betting, daily fantasy sports, casino games, and horse racing products that operate at significant user scale.
