A proven leader, manager and technical expert. Grant manages and oversees the development of the GLA\'s research and development programme, considering existing and future maritime requirements and strategy development. He leads the tri-GLA R&D team ensuring delivery of high quality tasks on time and within budget. He supports and seeks new international collaboration and standardisation to aid the development of efficient and cost effective maritime aid to navigation services into the future.As an active participant in the maritime aids-to-navigation research sector, Grant leads the Radionavigation services working group within the IALA ENG Committee; is an active member of several international standards bodies and supports international and national policy development activities.Grant has written over 100 journal papers, magazine articles and conference papers over the course of 20 years experience in this sector.Grant is a Fellow and Council member of the Royal institute of Navigation.Specialities: Maritime use of radionavigation systems, Aids to Navigation development, radionavigation research, international standards development (IALA, RTCM, IMO), strategy development, project management, systems engineering, team leadership and management.
