ABOUT ALAN CHRISTIE

Employed in the construction industry for many years now, in which time I have managed safety health and environmental concerns on a large scale, from nuclear controlled sites to NHS Hospitals. Working on sites with robust and stringent ruling from Nuclear controlled sites to Network Rail possession implementation, ensuring our safety systems meet and exceed expectation.Highly qualified and experienced Safety Professional with extensive managerial experience and a proven ability to review and enhance existing systems to ensure efficiency and safety.Implementing processes to help analyse and improve inadequate methods and procedures.With experience in the Defence, Nuclear, Manufacturing and Construction sectors, I am a fully qualified safety and health practitioner with IOSH accreditation and my main area of expertise is in CDM, behavioural safety and training. Creating and implementing standards and instilling a good safety culture in all areas of the business.Experience in the investigation of accidents and incidents across the country in my current role, yet played a major part in the execution of our near-miss reporting scheme – Positive Intervention, which is proving to be fruitful.Designing and delivering health and safety training to management, employees and the supply-chain covering many areas of safety, health and environment issues, including occupational health. Able to communicate very well at many levels, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate.Highly motivated and driven by work-without-loss initiatives, I can achieve and exceed expectation. Very good understanding of health & safety legislation and able to work within parameters set by the business or client.
