I am a maintenance engineer supervisor working for WKMG News 6. I have 25 years experience in the field of television broadcast performing general maintenance and repair of components in a live production News environment. I am familiar with electrical and HVAC systems resolving tier 1 issues and performing PM maintenance. I am responsible for compliance of our Fire Alarm systems, onsite emergency generator, and elevator. I am familiar with Rohde and Schwarz transmitters, specifically troubleshooting issues based on official training I received from Rohde and Schwarz. I am responsible for dealing with vendors and potential vendors and making sure accounts are set up for direct billing. I am responsible for troubleshooting such systems as Sony ELC, Ross Xpression, Vantage, iNews, and Grass Valley Stratus. Duties also include building and testing of non-linear editing systems, troubleshooting, and workflow design. I am familiar with MAC\\PC workstations and networking. I have performed facility installations such as building and running customized audio and video cables, installation and configuration of SDI routers, and installation of video and audio test equipment. I am knowledgeable in video file structures such as codecs, file wrappers, and embedding ancillary data into file formats. I am knowledgeable in the MPEG2/ MPEG4 file structures as it pertains to transmission of the DVB-S standard. I have also served as a technical consultant for shows shot outside of the USA, including workflow and optimizing camera settings for best picture quality. Have also performed duties such as composing capital expense reports, purchasing research, purchase order creation, and executing payment to external vendors. Have a general understanding of accounting as it pertains to a technical operations department.
