ABOUT ALAIN COURCHESNE
Introduce design where it’s nonexistent. Everything I accomplished over 15 years of career resulted from this philosophy. I understood the importance of aesthetics and function since I started out as an interior designer. This idea matters just as much in my current role. By rethinking the items that surround us, I seek to transform the usual into the extraordinary. This led me to create the Doggy Bathroom. In 2016, my Italian Greyhound, Sterling was experiencing his first winter and refused to go outside in the cold. After what seemed to be an endless online search for an indoor potty for him that worked, I reached two conclusions: 1 - that an elegant and practical bathroom for small breeds (including males who lift their leg) did not yet exist; and 2 - that I had to create it. The Doggy Bathroom is my solution to this problem and I am hopeful that it will not only make dog ownership easier, but will also help promote the emotional benefits of owning a dog.
