ABOUT ALAA ELRAYEH

In the last 10+ years I have had a highly successful career in technology in various positions while continually challenging myself to improve as I’ve worked within multi-disciplined teams to exceed expectation.I started out in technology towards the end of 2007 as an Application Security Engineer in Sudan and rose quickly through the hierarchy over the next seven years. In that period I finished my Masters Degree in Cyber Security at Lancaster University during a year placement which was sponsored by my employer. After moving to UK in 2014 I started working at Piksel as a Linux Engineer. Through this position I was able to not only learn the general DevOps lifecycle but also increase my own technical skillset.I then moved into Cloud Infrastructure Engineering on joining EE and more recently into DevOps Engineering as part of a new team within their Digital organisation. This team was formed to revitalise Agile delivery, improve stability and support the other engineering teams in adopting more usual DevOps practices and cultures across both EE Digital and BT Consumer. The team has since grown from a team of three into six teams of more than fifty engineers covering infrastructure and test automation, performance testing and capacity management.Outside work I pursue various other non-computing interests to keep myself keen. One activity which I\'m so passionate about is Property Investoment. Others such as painting, interior design and sometimes dancing.
