ABOUT ALAA ABDALLA

I am a registered pharmacist in Sudan, a public health professional, passionate about global health, medical research, and improving healthcare and patient safety. Currently, I work as a Public Health Coordinator at the Epidemiological Laboratory for Research and Development, where I support interdepartmental project coordination and content development. Previously, I worked as a hospital pharmacist in both the emergency and the COVID-19 isolation Center at Omdurman Teaching Hospital, where I provided pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients, ensured medication safety, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment strategies. My experience in hospital and emergency pharmacy has strengthened my clinical expertise, leadership, and ability to work in high-pressure environments. My academic journey includes an MSc in Public Health from Sunderland University, UK, where my thesis focused on reducing medical errors in Sudan through a comparison of printed and handwritten prescriptions. I also completed a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from National Ribat University, Sudan, which provided me with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences. I also participated in applied research, a summer training program at the Saudi National Institute of Health, enhancing my skills in research design, proposal development, and data analysis. In addition to my professional roles, I was involved in global pharmacy conferences, including the IPSF World Congress and the European Symposium, reflecting my dedication to advancing pharmacy practice and public health globally. I am seeking an entry-level role in research within public health. I aim to leverage my academic training and pharmaceutical background to contribute to advancing research initiatives and make a meaningful impact on health outcomes.
