Being a Supply Planner for MENA region, working with more than 16 manufacturing sites / contract manufacturers around the world is like being a “connector” who links the upstream supply chain with the downstream. The target is to fulfill market needs while maintaining the optimum inventory levels in the warehouses and sufficient stock coverage in the markets. This target is achieved by working closely with with sales and marketing, demand management, manufacturing sites, inventory management and new product introduction. in order to have the visibility of market needs to analyze demand figures and translate it into production plans and rolling forecasts based on stock levels and production campaigns. I’ve worked with the team on setting up a synchronized supply and demand process for better control over the ongoing changes in MENA demand figures, confirmed orders, opportunistic sales (Tenders) against the budget, available stocks, in route material and master production schedule (MPS) with the use of IBP tools to present consensus demand plan in the S & OP meetings.When the plans are ready, you’ll find me reviewing current supply and logistics models and creating more agile models for the products in the portfolio to enhance the lead time and to improve inventory targets.
