ABOUT LENA AL-RAYESS
As a first generation college student, I navigated college largely through trial and error. This extended to life after earning my bachelor\'s degree as well, and though I often wish I had someone such as an advisor or mentor to help me along the way, getting to where I am today without this has taught me initiative and resilience. Because of my experiences, I have gravitated toward positions that have enabled me to help others, most often through connecting people to resources, education, and careers. Being a “connector” plays to my strengths of meeting new people easily and learning new things quickly. I enjoy professional collaboration and the opportunities it provides to problem-solve, which often leads to me coming up with new ideas for task and project completion. I have a reputation for innovative thinking, shown through the many projects I have initiated and implemented in each of my professional positions.
