A fifth generation in the family industry who has been in the insurance business dating back to 1876 with the founding of Central Mutual Insurance Company in Van Wert, OH. The family relocated to Sarasota, Florida and Al Purmort Insurance was founded in 1985 by Al Purmort Sr. Al Jr. joined his father in the family business in 1994 and now has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He earned his BS from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Al focuses on growing the business and managing key relationships. He successfully oversees many of the agency’s top accounts. He specializes in working with various businesses and non-profit boards to show them how to save long-term through better safety and improved risk management.An active member in the local community, Al is a founding member of the Gulf Coast CEO Forum and a member of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange (GCBX), the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, and the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance (LWRBA).
