ABOUT AKSHATA KALYANPUR

Senior executive with deep expertise in strategic corporate communications, public relations, issues management and marketing in private & govt. organizations, in Canada and India. More than 24 years of expertise in strategic corporate communications, marketing and public relations in government and corporate environments as well as public relations agencies in Canada and India- Integral member of senior leadership teams and advisor to C-suite executives - Seasoned strategist leading campaigns from planning to execution, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and ensuring desired outcomes - Strong leader of small and large teams; coach and mentor who puts people first Currently heading HOOPP’s Public Relations group, overseeing media relations, brand and reputation, issues management and stakeholder relations. Prior to this role, I led the Marketing & Communications department which included employee/corporate communications, digital marketing, creative services, content, strategic communications and marketing analytics. As a valued member of the senior management teams, I provide strategic counsel to senior leaders, including preemptively identifying emerging opportunities, issues and risks, and advising on leveraging or mitigating strategies. Prior to this role, I’ve held various positions at HOOPP, leading internal, external and corporate communications. Prior to HOOPP, I’ve managed internal and external communications at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and, before that, the Canadian Tire Corporation. Early in my career, I’ve worked at several PR agencies in Mumbai and Toronto, managing public relations campaigns for clients across diverse industries including technology, retail, entertainment, tourism, and consumer products and services.
