About Akshatha Nayak
PhD candidate working in the area of computational cancer genomics. My research is focused on understanding how genome-wide mutational processes, including non-coding and passenger mutations, collectively influence cancer development, prognosis, and treatment response. My work integrates large-scale whole-genome sequencing data with data science, statistical analysis, and applied AI/ML to develop predictive and interpretable models.Previously, I worked as a Bioinformatician at EMBL-EBI, where I helped develop and maintain a widely used genomic data resource, and as a Data Science (AI/ML) intern at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, gaining experience across both academic and industry environments.
