About Akira Maidique

Hi, I am a second-year student at Fordham Gabelli School of Business working towards my BS. I plan on majoring in Business Administration, with a primary concentration in Finance and a secondary concentration in Social Innovation. I currently work at the Digital Media Lab at Fordham University. I have had my own small business for a few years now, where I sell curated and revamped thrift clothes. I have experience in modern marketing as I am a social media content creator and do freelance graphic design. I have also been involved in PR and marketing strategies for various different companies. I am passionate about all things art: drawing, photography, painting, fashion- you name it. I have always considered myself to be a creative individual with an ambition to learn and grow. At Fordham, I am a part of the Digital Media Technology/Information Systems Scholar program and the hip-hop team, Flava. I am also a member of the Net Impact Club and Fordham Business Development Club, where I work in website management. I received a Woolworth Scholar Award based on my academic standing within the business school by earning a 3.86 GPA. In high school, I won a Regional Scholastic Art Award for one of my graphic design pieces. I received a National Hispanic Recognition Award from the college board, as well as the AP Scholar Award for my academics and test scores. In addition, I was a competitive varsity HS cheerleader for four years and received the coaches award, which is given to one athlete on the team who showcases consistent dedication and support for the team. I am excited to continue my professional journey and connect with new people!
