ABOUT AKIRA BUNGE

I’m a Junior Honors Mechanical Engineering major at Texas A&M University with a passion for sustainable energy systems, environmental impact, and global engineering solutions. Through my work with Engineers Without Borders, I’ve helped design a mobile solar generator for agricultural use-balancing real-world loads, structural modeling in SolidWorks, and client-driven, cost-conscious design.I’m especially interested in affordable renewable energy, energy access in under-resourced areas, and how engineering can bridge global development challenges. My international academic experiences in Scotland and England have strengthened my technical and personal skills while deepening my cross-cultural competency and systems-level thinking.Whether I’m leading student teams, volunteering on service projects, or analyzing wind turbine loads in class, I strive to design with purpose and collaborate with impact.Always eager to connect with professionals, mentors, and innovators working in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, or global development.
