Building a think-tank on gender and politics in South Asia- Shaped vision, mission and organisational programmatic alignment since the founding- Produced 32 research publications, curated 125+ stories of women’s leadership and convened 18 roundtables, by identifying, onboarding and leading 130+ volunteers across 14+ countries- Built & Managed strategic partnerships with 16 global nonprofits such as Trickle Up, companies like JPMorgan, educational institutes, and political parties across South Asia & the US- Created awareness about gender inclusive policy reforms to thousands of diverse audiences by delivering speeches and guest lectures at international platforms such as G20, UNWomen, nonprofits and universities across South Asia, USA and Africa- Developed and implemented gender-focused trackers, in-depth analysis of geopolitical risks, regulatory needs and key policy trends, enabling strategic planning and prioritization of 10+ projects- Led strategic communications and engagement to create a digital community of over supporters for the organisationAs I continue to build our think-tank, I remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusive politics in South Asia and beyond.

ABOUT AKHIL NEELAM
I am the Co-Founder and Director of the Centre for Gender And Politics (CGAP), a passionate advocate for promoting gender-inclusive politics in South Asia. At CGAP, I lead a team focusing on narrowing the research gap on gender and electoral politics, overseeing research projects, internal and external communications, and cultivating partnerships to further our mission. Over the past two years, I have successfully mobilized over 120 volunteers from South Asia, empowering them to contribute to the cause of gender-inclusive politics. I am dedicated to making a positive impact and have worked closely with local governments in India, designing and implementing large-scale public programs to create systemic changes for better implementation. My academic journey began as an engineer, but my passion for positive change led me to graduate with a degree in liberal arts from Ashoka University on a full scholarship. During my time as a student, I participated in Jagriti Yatra, a train journey across India where I had the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who shared my passion for social entrepreneurship and positive change.
