ABOUT AKHIL NEELAM

I am the Co-Founder and Director of the Centre for Gender And Politics (CGAP), a passionate advocate for promoting gender-inclusive politics in South Asia. At CGAP, I lead a team focusing on narrowing the research gap on gender and electoral politics, overseeing research projects, internal and external communications, and cultivating partnerships to further our mission. Over the past two years, I have successfully mobilized over 120 volunteers from South Asia, empowering them to contribute to the cause of gender-inclusive politics. I am dedicated to making a positive impact and have worked closely with local governments in India, designing and implementing large-scale public programs to create systemic changes for better implementation. My academic journey began as an engineer, but my passion for positive change led me to graduate with a degree in liberal arts from Ashoka University on a full scholarship. During my time as a student, I participated in Jagriti Yatra, a train journey across India where I had the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who shared my passion for social entrepreneurship and positive change. I am always open to collaboration and welcome opportunities to connect and discuss ideas. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if there is any way I can assist you in your endeavours.
