Project: Museum for advancing the American Dream, DC (New, Renewal, Interior) • Engineered an auditorium below the 1900s existing building by providing a strategic demolition plan and underpinning the existing foundations; the Client benefitted from the hassle of demolishing and re-building. One-of-a-kind auditorium added to the project\'s story. • Revitalized the old building by designing a structural system to support two additional floors with 16 column transfers on 4 beams spanning 65ft rested on 4 mega columns; strategic rehabilitation preserved historic plaster with little to no damage. • Guided Client in estimating the renovation of the existing building by conducting feasibility studies, site visits, and determining the extent of retrofitting; ballpark estimate streamlined critical decisions saving two months of construction time. Project: Reston Row, Virginia (Commercial, Residential & Mixed-use) • Devised a plan to reduce shear wall thicknesses by accounting for slab-frame action behavior; alternate approach benefitted client by 10 inches of wall thickness reduction. • Executed construction administration services by providing efficient solutions for on-site challenges through proactive communication, collaboration, and problem-solving; achieved smooth workflow and high standards. Project: Citizen M Hotel, Washington DC (Modular) • Consulted on analysis and design of the first modular project in Washington DC by exploring structural options; manufacturing-style production streamlined construction activities completing a 15-story building in less than two years. Project: Commercial office, Virginia (Interior) • Assessed structural steel floating stair vibration for individual and group activities for walking and running frequencies; advanced analysis provided optimum walking comfort.
