Technologies/languages used: Go, Kafka, Redis, Clickhouse, Go, nginx, unbound, C#.• Provided technical mentorship to cross functional teams and engineers• Assisted with diagnosing and improving the performance of DNS query resolution for one of our largest partners by driving the initiative and the outcome• Engaged in ongoing integration discussions with different new and existing partners by providing custom technical solutions within our Recursive DNS Resolver Go code and answered technical questions• Responsible for creating a solution of integrating go-mitmproxy with our Recursive DNS resolver by capturing all outgoing DNS requests from go-mitmproxy and injecting a custom eDNS0 header value before the msg is sent• Created many SQL queries through Redash to shed light on our DNS traffic and provide valuable insights used in future decision making/data gathering & data analysis• Created Confluence pages & markdown files of documentation• Created proof-of-concept/innovation projects that were adopted by Engineering

ABOUT ALEX KHANIN

My love for computers started in the early 90s when I got my first PC which was a 286. I used it to play MSDOS games & learn programming using Turbo Pascal & C. Eventually, when I got my first Pentium, it had a 14.4 modem in it which I used to both dial to BBSes and run my own using PCBoard. I first gained access to the internet through a teacher\'s account that let me dialup to a local university\'s VAX. It had lynx, pine and pico which were my first intro to Unix and the internet. In early 1997, I installed Redhat Linux 4.0 as my primary OS at home though I would dual boot to Windows 95 for a while as well until finally fully switching to Linux. I became proficient in Shell scripting and Perl at that time as automation was very interesting to me. Eventually I began my professional career as a System Administrator and shortly after transitioned to (LAMP) Software Development. As technology stacks and the internet evolved I learned and became proficient in many other languages along the way: PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, C#, C++ and Go.
