   The Intersect creates connections between individuals and institutions to build and implement initiatives that revitalize neighborhoods. It partners with diverse members of the business, residential, governmental, nonprofit and philanthropic communities.Our goal is to give shape to how they envision the future. A key result of this collaborative process is the creation of active and equitable communities. The Intersect helps to solve problems so that neighborhoods can achieve their full cultural and economic potential. We act as an agent for the business community while serving as a lobbyist for residents. Community development requires leveraging resources. The Intersect brokers candid community-driven conversations between institutions and residents that lead to revitalized neighborhoods. We value the gifts, resources, skills, and knowledge that already exist in the community. Our goal is to then capture the \"cool\" in the communities we serve. Bringing together the unique, fun and lively characteristics of a neighborhood with, and through, the coolness of the people that live there.The Intersect’s inclusive development plans in residential communities and commercial corridors focus on practical outcomes.The foundation of our work includes:Business Development: supply one-on-one technical consulting to small business ownersCommunity Engagement: work with local residents, businesses, diverse institutions and property owners to ensure fair and equitable developmentCorridor Development: provide commercial corridor management and planning Physical Development: improve streetscape conditions while initiating beautification initiativesProject Management: managing the completion of tasks, resources, and activities identified to complete a an initiative in a specified timeframeReal Estate Development: create, lead, facilitate, and develop real estate development projects to advance neighborhood revitalization
