I\'m a Senior Drainage Engineer with over ten years of experience spanning drainage and highway design, flood risk management, and planning policy — working across consultancy, local authority, and highways maintenance environments.My career in drainage began organically and has grown into a genuine passion. There\'s something uniquely rewarding about this discipline — the work we do quietly shapes the world around us, from the streets people walk on to the communities we protect from flooding. Engineering in its many forms underpins modern life, and without it, the world we live in simply wouldn\'t exist. Drainage sits at the heart of that — often unseen, but always essential.What sets my experience apart is a dual perspective — having worked as both a design engineer and as a statutory consultee within Staffordshire County Council\'s Lead Local Flood Authority. This gives me an understanding of drainage challenges from both sides of the table; I know what good design looks like, and I know what regulators are looking for. That insight informs everything I do, from technical reviews of developer submissions under S38, S278, and agreements to delivering compliant and adoptable drainage schemes in line with local and national standards on the ground.My technical toolkit spans MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD, and I have experience delivering projects from pre-application through to as-built across highways, infrastructure, motorsport, Ministry of Defence, and development sectors.
