ABOUT AKASH ARAVINDAN

Hi, I’m Akash, a recent MEng Computer Science with Cyber Security graduate from the University of Southampton.I’ve always been curious about how systems work, how they connect, and most importantly, how they can be secured. During my time at university and through internships, I gained hands-on experience in areas I genuinely enjoy. I worked on setting up LAN infrastructure, configuring routers, switches and firewalls, and carried out vulnerability assessments using Nessus. I also explored penetration testing in a test environment using Metasploit.Alongside that, I worked on the IT support side, handling hardware issues like SSD and RAM replacements, system diagnostics, and helping users as part of an authorised Lenovo service provider. I’ve realised I really enjoy solving technical problems and supporting others, while continuing to learn something new every day.Cybersecurity is where I feel most at home. I’m especially interested in network security, SOC analysis and vulnerability management. I even had the opportunity to present cybersecurity tools like Nessus and Metasploit to my peers during my internship, which was a great learning experience.Right now, I’m actively looking for entry-level roles in cybersecurity, networking or IT support, where I can keep learning, gain real-world experience, and grow into a meaningful career.Always happy to connect and chat about tech, security, or anything in between.
