About Akanksha S.
Before you read about me, here’s a quote I want you to read: “If you need a job to give you a life, you either need a new job or a new life.\" If you are an ardent Grey’s Anatomy fan like me, this dialog might have stuck with you too. Well, I’m no surgeon but as someone who develops trainings as performance support for corporate employees, I consider myself no less. As an Instructional Designer, I feel honored and privileged to be able to support our learners in training them to do their jobs better. Because if they don’t, they’re not just ruining their jobs (read: lives) but also of the plethora of people involved with them. And that could result in huge losses for the organizations. Of course, it’s not just ME getting involved in developing a training curriculum and taking it to the finish line in the form of a fully functional training. And that’s where team/stakeholder/client management comes into play. You can’t build a fort alone. I’m also fighting fires almost all the time because there’s no such thing as a “perfect” training. So, all enhancements, all changes, all errors are always considered while not pushing the finish line (remember, the learner’s life is at stake). Finally, the joy of creating a “meaningful, memorable, and motivational” training that sticks with the learners and also achieves their employers’ goals is as big as climbing the Everest. So, about me: As an ID, I’m not just a “trainer”, I’m a surgeon trying to keep my learner from dying of boredom; I’m an architect trying to keep the team together and aligned while we build our course structure; I’m a fire fighter who manages crises to ensure our training and business goals are intact; and I could also moonlight as a mountaineer to celebrate big achievements. Glad to connect!
