About Akanksha Singh
I am a journalist and editor currently based between Mumbai, India and Lisbon, Portugal. My work has appeared in Al Jazeera, BBC Culture, CNN Travel, Bon Appétit, The Globe and Mail, South China Morning Post, The Sydney Morning Herald, and more. I write about social justice, policy, and culture, and have a fascination with all things old and odd. I’ve reported on cross-border human smuggling, investigated toxic workplace culture in billion-dollar edtech companies, and examined India’s growing air pollution crisis. I am also a former copywriter at R K SWAMY BBDO, then a part of BBDO - the most awarded global agency network. While there, I worked on digital campaigns for brands such as Isuzu Motors India and Pampers. As an editor, I have edited academic papers, doctoral theses, and book-length fiction and memoir manuscripts. Having lived and worked in both North America and Australia, I am comfortable working with American English, and British and Commonwealth English.
