The jaw-dropping Decepticoaster at Universal Beijing Resort. The mesmerizing Jurassic-themed touring experience making its way across the globe. The fan-favorite Halloween Horror Nights. These are a few of the crowd-pleasing, revenue-driving creations I have helped support as part of the Universal Destination and Experience (UDX) Licensing team supporting Global Events. In legal speak, I advise on licensing and clearance issues in themed entertainment experiences and seasonal events, live shows, media productions, marketing events and other promotional activities at theme parks and remote touring operations around the world. I also provide guidance on license compliance, licensor approvals, content policy, deal structure, compliance with international laws, and commercial IP requirements relating to co-promotional opportunities and collaborations. I work with an amazing team of smart and passionate lawyers, legal professionals and business leaders in four time zones. And every now and then I get to ride a rollercoaster, tour a haunted house and watch a great movie in the name of research.
