What Cindy and team are building is as necessary as it is underrated by traditional VC. If you know young women who would benefit from men in their lives who have better stories and experiences to learn from, or young men who would benefit from better models of masculinity than the prevailing stereotypes, please join me in investing in this crowd round.

ABOUT ASTRID SCHOLZ
Impatient pragmatist committed to mobilizing data, innovations, and capital for world-positive outcomes. Recovering non-profit executive with 15+ years in strategy, program design, board development and service, fundraising and management. Serial creator and leader of hybrid companies that pursue purpose and profit, combining legal and financial fluency with operational chops to manage teams large and small. Experiential learner committed to servant leadership and generative corporate cultures. Enthusiastic but flawed parent, gardener, and cook. “No, but do you play miniature golf?”At a moment in time when we are faced with urgent social, environmental, and economic challenges, and with markets and governments too slow to respond, we need to find new ways to collaborate towards a better future. I founded Sphaera in the belief that contemporary technological, legal and financial innovations can massively accelerate the volume and velocity of good ideas and the capital to scale them to find solutions to the global challenges articulated in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. My work is multi-modal, and so I also maintain a private consulting practice to work with individuals and organizations on ways to increase their impact. In this I draw on my experience with strategic planning, program design and execution, operational systems design, board and organizational development, and purpose-centered corporate structures. I am keenly interested in the social justice dimensions of natural resource management and economic development, and like using my training as an Economist for the greater good. I have deep experience with survey design, ethnographic and other participatory methods for articulating the social and economic value of natural resources, and with methods for capturing the health, wellbeing and other impacts of economic development projects.
