Email Marketing Team• Currently working on a new email marketing product, which would be able to handle 1B+ promotional email sends per hour. Responsible for implementing features, fixing bugs, and collaborating with partner teams• Implemented a feature in Java to integrate various backend services (e.g. querying DynamoDB, client implementation to fetch data from other micro-services) for email domain authentication. This enabled our customer administrators to configure an allowlist of email domains to maintain trusted communication with their customers• Implemented consent management feature to do consent checks, updates, and process events like unsubscribes and complaints. This enabled businesses to engage with their customers while respecting their privacy preferences• Contributed towards setting up a continuous integration (CI/CD) pipeline for email service product by writing E2E integration tests involving gRPC services. This enabled easier product development and improved software qualitySMS Marketing Team• The product handled 7 billion promotional text messages a day at its peak across different continents• Led the project to migrate a critical SQL table used for billing purposes with 5 billion+ rows of billing data to a new partition function to reduce database query time by 70%• Maintained and improved engineering efficiency by implementing several stored procedures and optimizing the database queries used for billing purposes• Enriched metrics, alerts, runbooks, and dashboards as part of operational readiness for the team
