About Ajit Kumar Jena
I am a Computational Materials Scientist with six years of post-PhD experience. I use density functional theory (DFT) based first-principle calculations and advanced post-processing tools to examine materials properties such as electronic structure and electrical transport, magnetism and magnetotransport, atomic diffusion, thermal conductivity and gas sensing studies both on bulk and 2D materials using High-Performance Computing Environment. I have experience in working on varieties of materials, e.g. semiconducting, insulating, metallic, non-magnetic and magnetic systems, cathode materials, thermoelectric materials, materials for spintronics applications (mainly on Heusler alloys), gas sensors etc. It is important to note that I have been collaborating with the experimental teams and we have reported excellent agreement between theoretical and experimental results. Once we match with the experimental findings, we go beyond the experimental limitation to predict and explain the materials properties.
