ABOUT AJIT KARNA
I am a veterinarian, public health scientist, entomologist and PhD graduate (virology and epidemiology). I am also a field epidemiology training program (FETP) mentor. My interest is in multi-/inter- disciplinary approach of addressing infectious diseases - One Health, strengthening the health systems, and improving disease detection and control as earliest as possible. What fascinates me the most is the complexity of pathogen transmission dynamics in a human-animal-environmental triad, and what I like doing is enhancing collaboration and coordination with public health, wildlife, livestock, environment, education, and other relevant domains of the countries for tackling emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial use/resistance using existing and new tools and guidelines. Specialities: Risk Assessment | Health Systems | Business Development | Epidemiology | Microbiology | Entomology | FETP | Ecology | Surveillance of Infectious Diseases | Outbreak Investigation | Public and Global Health | Disease Control | Environmental Health | Policy and Development | Health Equity and Access | Immunization l Program Planning and Implementation | Antimicrobial Use and Resistance | Good Laboratory Practice
