Design and review of structural and civil engineering projects and studies to repair, rehabilitate or reconstruct railroad bridges, facilities, and stations- Prepare design documents for the repair and rehabilitation of various types of railroad infrastructure constructed by railroad construction forces or contractors- Manage design efforts by A/E firms for structural and civil Amtrak infrastructure projects and coordinate the interface with Amtrak Engineering’s other core disciplines (Track, Electric Traction, Communication and Signals)- Review engineering designs submitted by outside agencies for projects to be constructed on, over or adjacent to Amtrak property to ensure compliance with Amtrak and industry standards- Provide technical expertise to other departments and provide engineering assistance to Division Engineers and their staffs in supporting rail infrastructure projects.
