As Head of Backend Engineering at Lavanda, I play a dual role: supporting department-wide initiatives and recruitment efforts, while also managing multiple cross-functional teams delivering key parts of our platform.I work closely with the Head of Technology and Head of Engineering to help drive strategic initiatives across the department—championing best practices, supporting team health, and aligning engineering goals with business priorities. I’m actively involved in recruitment, helping to identify and attract top talent across backend, QA, and design.As an engineering manager, I lead teams comprising backend, frontend, QA, and design. Since taking on the role, we’ve reduced bugs and service requests, improved system reliability, and shortened cycle times—delivering value to customers faster and more efficiently.I also serve as scrum master and delivery lead, ensuring agile processes run smoothly, blockers are cleared quickly, and teams stay focused and aligned. I work closely with product and design partners to ensure clear roadmaps and continuous delivery.In parallel, I’ve driven AI adoption across engineering, embedding tools into development and QA workflows to boost productivity and encourage innovation.
