Ashley Craig is a licensed architect and urban designer within SOM’s global City Design Practice. Her work has spanned cities on the West Coast, East Coast, Midwest, and Southern US, with additional experiences in Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. Her expertise includes public and private master planning; city policy, planning, and entitlements; aviation and transportation; large-scale mixed-use development; and entertainment production studios.As an associate principal leading urban design and architecture teams, Ashley excels in applying both expansive and detailed thinking to programming, planning, and design, leading to the development of contextual, sustainable, and resilient projects. Ashley understands and applies contemporary requirements—market standards and best practices—to increase efficiencies, flexibility, and systems optimization of diverse building typologies including creative office, life science, and multi-family residential. Projects to which Ashley has contributed have received international, national, and local design awards from the American Institute of Architects and the US Green Building Council. Ashley holds a Master\'s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was awarded the Cogburn Family Foundation Architecture and Urbanism Prize. Her thesis research defined, codified, and tested strategies for urban intervention as a method of practice in the revitalization of contemporary American cities and was awarded the Oglesby Traveling Fellowship.
