OpenAI Models Onboarding and Component Development for Azure Machine Learning Collaborated with OpenAI to onboard their proprietary RL/SFT/DPO LLM models to Azure OpenAI, building training and inference pipelines and benchmarking them on standard datasets using Azure A100/H100 GPU clusters. Performed GPT-4o image encoder LoRA fine-tuning across various dataset sizes and LoRA dimensional settings, achieving ~5% improvement in F1 score for multi-class image classification on steel defect and dermatology datasets. Collaborated on a data preprocessing component for data streaming, format compatibility, and safety/harm checks in Azure ML. Also designed and implemented a release testing framework, reducing testing time from ~2 hours (manual) to 5 minutes. Improved ML training simulations in Azure ML, preventing over 326 potential support cases across four regions over 180 days. Authored detailed documentation notebooks for Azure OpenAI fine-tuning, reducing onboarding time to ~1 day. Also built a reusable model catalog supporting end-to-end training of SOTA vision and Hugging Face models.
