ABOUT AJAY AMRITE

With over 30 years in IT, I bring a robust approach to solution design, and service delivery. As Lead Product Architect at the Post Office, I am responsible for a portfolio of services across Government, Digital Identity, and Mails - including Passport, DVLA, SIA, Notes Exchange, In-branch Verification, and Drop & Go. These are delivered by Postmasters through ~11,500 branches across the country, making scalability, resilience, accessibility, and integration essential to their success. My foundation in Java and IBM Websphere suite of products have enabled me to modernise legacy systems while preserving operational stability. Whether it’s secure messaging, high-throughput integration, or service-oriented architecture, I enjoy the challenge of bridging technologies across generations. My focus has always been on designing solutions that work at scale and evolve with business needs. Lately, I’ve been exploring how AI and emerging technologies can amplify efficiency, product strategy, and user experience.My journey has taken me across sectors from Banking, Insurance, Retail, and Telecom to Broadcasting, Logistics, and Steel Manufacturing, solving unique challenges in each. Whether it’s extending Government services in branches or launching the Post Office Credit Card, crafting IAG’s API strategy for Avios, streamlining Agile transformation at Lloyds Banking Group, or building customer call centre systems for BSkyB. From integrating cargo operations across the seven sea ports of South Africa to optimising production at Tata Steel Europe, I’ve enjoyed working on these diverse challenges.
