ABOUT AJAY RAMANATHAN LAKSHMANAN

Leading the research, design, development of fundamental and statistical models at The Energy Authority, providing technical leadership, operational guidance and working primarily on Power Markets, Quantitative analytics for Utilities, Generation/Transmission pricing studies, FTR(TCR/CRR)/ARR strategies,and System modelling in the RTO space. I have a Master\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Electric Power and Energy Systems from the Arizona State University. My areas of interest include Power System Analysis and Design, Power Planning and Operation, Power System Stability, Power Electronics and Renewable Energy systems. During my graduate coursework, I had worked with analysis tools like PSLF, TSAT and basic PSSE for power flow modeling and stability analysis. I had extensively worked on PLECS for modeling, designing and analysis of power electronic renewable energy system models involving PV and Wind generating systems. Analyzed the impact of faults and their influence on the power network, transmission planning assessment against contingencies in PowerWorld. On the optimization front, specifically in Power planning, worked with AMPL for power flow - economic and optimal modeling in Transmission expansion planning. I have a deep propensity towards efficient and stable power society with renewable generating source integration.I was also working as a Design Engineer Intern with N.E.R.D Power LLC at Mesa, AZ, where I have congregated Industrial experience in Solar PV design and optimization. Analysis of Residential capacity and Solar System design with Electrical Grid Integration. Emphasis on electrical wiring diagrams, breaker sizing, wire sizing in congruence with NEC, IBC, IFC, IRC regulations. I have a Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, where I had academic exposure to courses and projects related to Power system design, courses conceptualizing Power system protection and control, and Power system analysis. My undergraduate course work laid the foundation for my interests in the Power and Energy sector. I worked in Oracle Systems for 2 years with experience in Enterprise class servers, Chip architecture validation, Power management studies, Firmware verification, Oracle Virtualization Technologies, Oracle Cloud and Oracle ZFS Storage.
