About Alex Atkins
Alex is a class of 2020 graduate from Chicago-Kent College of Law, earning his JD degree with a focus on financial services regulation and enforcement. Prior to entering law school, Alex worked as a financial-technology literacy coach at North Lawndale Employment Network on Chicago\'s westside to the server under and unemployed residents, which he was hired on permanently through his work with AmeriCorps. Alex\'s first opportunity, after graduating from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor\'s in Sociology, worked with the Fleming Group as a Program Manager where he interacted with mining and financial services industry leaders to produce interactive forums. During 1L, Alex participated in the Black Law Student Association at Kent. He interned with The Options Clearing Corporation during his 1L summer and well into the first semester of his 2L year. He was nominated and won the Treasurer position of the Black Law Student Association as a rising 2L. In addition to participating in the Black Law Student Association, he was an active member of Kent\'s Moot Court Society. He competed with his Moot Court team in the Schreck Gaming Law Competition in Las Vegas, where they placed 3rd overall.
