Alex Jacquet is the COO and Head of Product at Smiletime Inc, a 500 Startups-backed technology company based in Los Angeles that powers pop.inpop.in, on Android and iOS, blends gaming with multiparty video. Prior to pop.in, Alex led the development of Smiletime’s interactive live video platform used by creators and major entertainment entities and brands such as The CW, TMZ, Sony, Legendary, Sundance Channel, The Hollywood Reporter, and Pepsi.Prior to joining Smiletime, Alex worked in the Corporate Strategy and Business Development group of The Walt Disney Company. In his position, Alex developed analyses and strategic insights for Disney’s Head of Corporate Strategy, CFO, and CEO, spanning each segment of the company: Studios, Media Networks, Consumer Products, Parks & Resorts, and Interactive. Alex worked on several notable deals at Disney, including ESPN’s first-ever acquisition of English Premier League television and online distribution rights, Disney’s acquisition of The UTV Group, India’s number one Bollywood film company and Disney’s biggest-ever investment in India, and Disney’s sale of the Power Rangers to Saban Capital. Alex began his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers, working in Lehman’s Global Industrials group. In his role, Alex ran acquisition, sale and financing analyses and managed diligence processes for multibillion-dollar industrial companies including FedEx, 3M, Delta Airlines and Stanley Tools.Alex has a passion for entrepreneurship, having started his first business, a Playstation accessories company, at the age of 15 in his hometown of Lincoln, MA. Alex has dual US/UK citizenship and is a diehard fan of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He holds a BA and MBA from Stanford University.
