ABOUT AISHIA MCQUILLAN

I remember as a teenager I would bring friends into my parents’ home and provided food and shelter to them unbeknownst to them; hiding friends under beds and in our garage until I got caught or until they went back home to their parents. As a young adult, I would see the underprivileged and somehow, someway, found a way to help. As a well-seasoned adult, I can’t walk by someone in need without feeling compelled to assist in some sort of way. Helping people is a part of my DNA. 9 years ago, someone helped me by presenting a job offer to me as a Jr. Recruiter. I didn’t seek out the opportunity. I didn’t even know it existed. I didn\'t have the education, I didn\'t have the knowledge to do the job but I had \"something\" in me that, that Director saw that said \"she\'s the one. She can do this.\" I am forever grateful to him. I counted this as a blessing and jumped on the opportunity and haven’t looked back. As a HR Professional, being able to positively affect the lives of others, to make a difference and to provide hope is what I do daily; just on a professional level. I do what I do, not because it’s a job, but because it’s my joy. And even in the most challenging, unforeseen and maybe even unfair circumstance, that joy still resides in me. I believe in others because someone believed in me. All it takes is that one person to make a difference in someone else.
