About Aishashree Giri

I’m a fourth-year veterinary student at the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences, gradually steering my path toward Animal Biotechnology and infectious disease research. My curiosity has always been rooted in understanding how life works beneath the surface — how cells communicate, how pathogens adapt, and how molecular interactions translate into visible disease. My early years in veterinary school gave me a ground-level view of animal health — handling cases, vaccination drives, and community welfare projects. Those experiences shaped how I think about disease: not just as something to treat, but as a system to understand. Over time, that curiosity led me from the clinic to the molecular side of things — where questions become smaller, but the implications become much larger.I’m particularly drawn to understanding how molecular interactions shape biological systems — from host–pathogen dynamics and antimicrobial resistance to the genetic and cellular mechanisms that drive disease and adaptation. I’m fascinated by how evolution, genetics, and biotechnology intersect to influence both health and ecology — and how that knowledge can translate into real-world solutions.I hope to continue building a foundation in molecular microbiology, genetic tools, and translational veterinary biotechnology, and to learn from researchers who share an interest in how biology can be re-engineered for better health outcomes.If your work intersects with molecular biology, genomics, biotechnology, or One Health research, I’d love to connect and exchange ideas.
