ABOUT AISHA HANIF

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist | Neurodiversity Advocate | Communication EmpowermentMy journey into Speech and Language Therapy began with my younger cousin, who was born with a hearing impairment. Watching him struggle to connect with others—often misunderstood or left out—sparked something in me. Sitting in on his early therapy sessions opened my eyes to how empowering communication support could be. It inspired me to pursue this path, driven by the belief that everyone deserves to be heard. With over a decade of experience in SLT, I specialise in supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), and complex communication profiles. My approach is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming principles, collaboration, and building meaningful, functional communication across settings.Who I Help & How- Children with language delays, speech sound disorders, and social communication needs- Families navigating the early years, diagnosis, or transitions- Schools seeking inclusive, practical SLT strategies- Teams developing EHCPs or support plans for neurodivergent learnersI deliver remote and face-to-face assessments and therapy, always working with the child, not just for them. Outcomes I prioritise include increased confidence, self-expression, connection with others, and a stronger sense of communication identity. Background & ReachI\'ve worked across NHS Trusts in the UK and internationally in Dubai, bringing cultural sensitivity and adaptable, family-centred care to diverse communities. I also contribute to collaborative tools like Kids Speech Lab, and have experience as an educator and outreach specialist. What Drives MeI\'m passionate about creating environments where difference is celebrated, not corrected. Where communication is supported in the way each individual naturally connects. Where parents and educators feel confident in their role, not overwhelmed.Let’s Connect! If you’re a parent, educator, therapist, or organisation interested in- Practical, neurodivergent-affirming communication support- EHCP input or second opinions- Collaboration on projects, blogs, or resourcesI’d love to connect and share ideas.Let’s empower every voice—together.
