Selected as 1 of 3 undergraduate students selected to participate in weekly didactic sessions on fetal development and perinatal care and addressdisparities in preterm birth through inpatient community-building models. Co-lead weekly in-person sessions on the Duke Antepartum Unit focused on building providing knowledge on various prenatal health and facilitating connections among patients via creative outlets.

ABOUT AISHA D. MANE
I am a fourth-year at Duke University, majoring in The Social and Biochemical Dimensions of Health in the Black Diaspora through Program II, Duke\'s individualized degree program. My course of study explores how historical inequities have evolved into structural racism and how those systems impact health outcomes in Black communities at both biological and physiological levels.With the goal of earning an M.D. and MPH, my interdisciplinary course of study bridges my passion for the hard sciences with a commitment to understanding and addressing health disparities. I’m driven to create lasting, community-centered change through equity-focused approaches to medicine and public health.
