Took on a brand new role within the company to start and carry out the Remote Operations Engineering centre for drilling operations across Europe. Supported new initiative aiming to minimise the number of personnel working in high risk locations. Remotely monitored and processed data for up to 5 concurrent drilling operations. Oversaw all areas of schedule development and managed a team of 3 Remote Operations Engineers. Provided technical and social support to the (often isolated) well-site engineers.Key Achievements Constructed a business case study, backed by data, showing the huge financial, technical and safety benefits of the Remote Operation for Schlumberger and its clients. Designed and implemented the Remote Ops disaster recovery centre in Westhill, allowing operations to continue during COVID-19 lock-down. Successfully negotiated with key equipment suppliers to keep procurement within budget restraints. Worked closely with a network architect to design and optimise the remote operation cells. The first engineer to field test TerraSphere with BP Clair Ridge, the industry\'s first application of a logging-while-drilling dual-physics imager for all oil-based mud systems. Successful field tests of wired drill-pipe with Equinor, GyroSphere Gyroscope tool with BP Clair Ridge.
